Getting started
What is OSRMRoute?+
OSRMRoute is a high-performance Maps, Routing and Geocoding API by MAMMADOFF AGENCY LLC. We run a dedicated routing engine and self-hosted geocoders over OpenStreetMap and Overture data, offering the speed of a premium provider at a fraction of the cost.
Which APIs do you offer?+
Directions & route planning, distance/time matrices, map matching, forward & reverse geocoding, address autocomplete, places/POI search, isochrones, route optimization and location clustering — all over a clean REST API, with SDKs and an MCP server for AI agents.
How do I get an API key?+
Create a free account, open your dashboard and generate a key. You can set per-key restrictions (allowed origins/IPs) and see live usage.
Is there a free tier?+
Yes — every account includes a genuine free daily quota so you can build and test before you pay. Paid plans raise your quota and rate limits.
Coverage & data
Which countries are covered?+
26 countries across the Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia), Central Asia, Türkiye, Iran and the wider Middle East, with more added over time. See the Coverage page for the live list, or request a country.
Where does your map data come from?+
Principally OpenStreetMap (ODbL) plus Overture Maps (CDLA-Permissive / ODbL). Routing runs on the open-source OSRM engine; geocoding on our own Nominatim + Photon, enriched with Overture places.
How accurate are addresses and house numbers?+
Street and place coverage is strong; house-number precision depends on the underlying open data, which is denser in cities. We enrich coverage with millions of Overture points, and results include coordinates you can map or route to. Outputs are estimates, not survey-grade.
Can I request a new country?+
Yes. Use the “activate your country” option on the Coverage page — we capture demand and expand as our servers grow.
Pricing & billing
How does pricing work?+
Simple, predictable plans with a daily request quota and per-minute rate limit. See the Pricing page for current tiers.
Who processes payments?+
Paddle is our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle charges your card, handles VAT/sales tax and issues invoices. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms.
Can I get an invoice?+
Yes — Paddle emails a receipt/invoice for every payment, and you can access billing details from the checkout receipt.
How do refunds work?+
See our Refund Policy. There’s a free tier to try before you pay; statutory cooling-off rights are honored where they apply. Requests go to us or via Paddle.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; you keep access through the paid period.
Using the API
What are the rate limits and quotas?+
Each key has a daily request quota and a per-minute burst limit tied to its plan. Your dashboard shows usage and the reset time in your timezone.
What happens if I exceed my limit?+
Requests over the limit receive an HTTP 429 response. Design your integration to back off and retry gracefully, and cache where appropriate.
Can I restrict my API key?+
Yes — restrict a key to specific referrer origins and/or IP addresses from the dashboard to protect it if it leaks.
Do you have SDKs or an MCP server?+
Yes — official SDKs plus an MCP server (osrmroute-mcp) so AI agents can call routing and geocoding tools directly.
Data, privacy & legal
Do you store the addresses I send?+
Query content (addresses, coordinates, search terms) is processed transiently to return results and is not kept as a separate profile. We log request metadata (key, endpoint, IP, status, timing) for security and billing. See the Privacy Policy.
Are you GDPR compliant?+
We act as controller for account data and as your processor for end-user data you submit through the API, governed by our Data Processing Addendum (DPA). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.
What attribution do I need to display?+
Wherever you show map or geocoding results you must credit “© OpenStreetMap contributors” and preserve any other required dataset attribution, and comply with the ODbL (including share-alike if you publish a derived database).
Can I use results commercially?+
Yes, within your plan and the Terms. You may not resell raw outputs as a competing dataset or systematically rebuild the underlying databases.
Support
How do I get support?+
Email [email protected], or use the Contact page. Privacy/legal: [email protected]; abuse reports: [email protected].
Do you offer enterprise plans or an SLA?+
Yes — for volume pricing, custom coverage or a written service-level agreement, contact us via the Sales option on the Contact page.
Is there a status page?+
Yes — live service status is published at status.osrmroute.com and linked in the header and footer.
